Top Five Tips

According to past students, these top five tips will help you to succeed at University:

1. Know Where To Go For Help!

USQ provides a large number of services for students including:

  • academic assistance;
  • career and personal counselling;
  • support  for students with disabilities;
  • assistance with medical and health issues;
  • assistance with finding accommodation; and
  • cultural, social, sporting and welfare services offered by the Student Guild.

2. Get a Copy of a USQ Campus Map.

Navigate your way around the Toowoomba campus, Fraser Coast campus or Springfield campus with a USQ campus map.

3. Explore the Library.

Roll your sleeves up and explore the resources in the USQ Library. Use the research services offered and meet the Faculty of Sciences Librarians, who are skilled in researching the Faculty's areas of interest. The Faculty Librarians can provide tips on assignment research as a result of their working relationship with USQ's academic staff.

4. Commit to a Realistic Timetable.

Limit lectures and tutorials to six hours of classes a day, and when possible timetable a break between classes. Don't be tempted to squeeze all of your on-campus classes into one or two days.

5. Enjoy Yourself.

A tertiary education at USQ is a wonderful opportunity and an experience that should be enjoyed.
