Information Technology (or computing) covers a very wide range of activities relating to computer software (programs), computer hardware (computers and networks) and their integration into organisations.

The Faculty of Sciences at USQ offers degrees in the following specialties:

The networking and security speciality encompasses the design and maintenance of secure and efficient connected systems of computers.
The computer science speciality gives a broad introduction to the field of computing with an emphasis on software design.
The games development speciality focuses on the design and development of a range of applications that use computer games technologies such as 3-D animation.
The web systems development provides the technical tools to design and build advanced interactive web-based systems.
