Shakespeare Alfresco!

Experience the magic of live performance in three of Queensland's most stunning locations at the annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival in Toowoomba, Fraser Coast and Springfield.

Toowoomba's premiere ‘green-space’, Queens Park comes to life with Shakespearean performances, displays and workshops in late February through to the first weeks of March each year. The Festival then tours to the University's Springfield campus in mid-March, and culminates when Fraser Coast audiences welcome the Bard to balmy Seafront Oval at Hervey Bay in late-March.

Past seasons have featured unforgettable mainstage productions of Romeo and Juliet (2008), Macbeth (2007), The Comedy of Errors (2006), Taming of the Shrew (2005) and Hamlet (2004).

The 2009 season offers a unique range of cultural experiences for audiences of all ages including:

• Secondary School Workshop Days;
• a mini-show, Tempest in a Teacup touring into local primary schools; and
• an unforgettable production of The Tempest on the Festival's starlit stage.

Revive your cultural senses, immerse yourself in the works of the Bard, and at the same time, enjoy the great outdoors.
