Richard III

The ninth annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival will feature Shakespeare’s historic drama, The Tragedy of King Richard III.

Written in 1591, the play depicts the treacherous rise to power and subsequent short reign of Richard III of England (1483-1485).

Monstrous, but theatrically electric, Richard is Shakespeare’s most captivating and charismatic, self-delighting villain, revelling at every moment in his cunning journey to ultimate power.

Gates open an hour before the show so why not come along early and enjoy your picnic dinner and watch the sun set behind the trees as the show begins.

Pack a hamper and bottle of wine …. and don’t forget to bring a blanket to sit on … and a jumper - just in case!
