(though common in South-east Queensland this spider is rarely noticed; its identity remains tentative but it has the anatomical features of the genus Argiope)

Habitat:
In the centre of a rounded stabilimentum which overlies a larger circular web; this web is built in crevices of eucalypt trees that have dark (or fire-blackened) bark
Toxicity:
Unknown; probably too small to be hazardous to humans

The overal body shape and the abdominal markings of this spider make it reasonably easy to regognize.
