Habitat:
This spider is often found under loose bark and in leaf litter in eucalypts and may also venture into houses, at least one Steatoda species being known to hide in dark places such as cupboards

Uncertain but this spider should be treated as potentially dangerous to humans

Eyes and carapace

Little is known about the natural history of this species. The serrated yellowish stripe seen on this otherwise uniformly black species is a useful distinguishing feature.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Steatoda paykulliana.
