This small species may be found in bush habitats but also is sometimes seen in small garden shrubs and when present is likely to be found in relatively large numbers.
The female normally sits at the centre of what is essentially a circular orb similar to that of many araneids but with a single strong strand joining the centre of this orb to a branch or another strong anchoring strand. The central strand applies tension to the orb and gives it a spring-like appearance and a row of rounded 'garbage' masses may be found along its length. Other less regularly arranged threads also support the orb.
Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Several small araneid species.
