This spider is usually found is a small, very limited web close to ground level, probably because it feeds almost exclusively on small ants

This small and comparatively rare spider is not known to be toxic to humans but perhaps should still be treated with caution

Distinguishing features of Dipoena are its overall shape and the deep, almost square grooves around it head region.
