Note: The identity of this spider is not certain. It was originally believed that Trite longula is to be found only in Northern Australia and some Asian countries and that the South Queensland spider
with a similar appearance is actually Gangus longulus. However, some museum experts have suggested that Trite longula and Gangus longulus are really the same species. The diagnostic features of both spiders include black patches around the eyes, radiating striae (stripes) on the back half of the carapace, and a faint pattern of chevron-like markings along the abdomen.
