Underside of spider

This species is related to the well known white-tailed spider group although it has pale markings on the upper surface of the abdomen that are different from those of Lampona species. There are also differences in its mouthparts but these can only seen with the aid of a stereo microscope. It is for these reasons that it was recently placed in a different subfamily.

This species does not seem to have invaded human constructions in the same fashion as Lampona.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Lampona murina.
