This species usually builds an orb web in low vegetation but is more likely to be found in this web at night than during the daylight hours

Note that the male of this species looks rather different when compared with the female shown above, this being a characteristic of many araneid species.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: A number of Araneus/Eriophora species have the same general body shape and behavioural patterns as this spider.
