Racing rules
To ensure that the event is both fun and safe for all participants and spectators, rules and billy cart construction requirements have been established and must be followed at all times. The Conditions of Entry and Rules (PDF* 190KB) are drawn up to give everybody an equal chance and to provide every possible safety precaution.
Scrutineering
To confirm compliance with rules, all billy carts and drivers are to be presented by 8.00am on Sunday 2 September at the USQ Springfield campus. If a billy cart does not meet the construction requirements or is not deemed safe; participant clothing requirements (PDF* 130KB) are not met or the signed indemnity form is not submitted, participants will not be permitted to continue.
If all requirements are met, participants will be required to undertake a test run to demonstrate the steering, braking and general safety of their billy cart. If any of these are deemed unsatisfactory by the marshals, the participant will not be permitted to compete.
Entry and indemnity
All entrants must read, sign and submit the indemnity form prior to entering the race. If an entrant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign on their behalf. Failure to comply with the Conditions of Entry and Rules (PDF* 190KB) or with directions from race marshals on the day may result in an entrant being personally liable for any injury or damage they cause.
All entrants accept that billy cart racing has the potential to cause personal injury and/or damage and enter at their own risk.
Please complete the entry form (DOC 50KB) for each billy cart briver.

The front car park at the USQ Springfield campus will be closed. Please park in the rear car parks behind the USQ Building or behind the Accommodation Village.
