Registering for tutorials/practicals

Depending on the course you are studying, registering for tutorials and/or practicals is via USQConnect Student Tutorial System (SETS), or manual sign-on. Students should only register for one tutorial/practical for each course they are enrolled in.

Off-campus students who wish to attend lectures should submit a question via USQAssist or contact Outreach Services.

Accessing SETS

Access to SETS is via USQConnect > USQAdmin > Tutorial Selection. You will be required to logon using your USQConnect username and password. SETS is usually available three weeks before the first day of semester to the last day to add classes each semester. 

A SETS user guide is available to assist students who are using the system for the first time.

Faculty information

Prior to registering for tutorials/practicals, students should familiarise themselves with their Faculty's registering instructions and contact details for further enquiries.

Faculty of Arts

Students are required to enrol in courses with more than one tutorial through SETS.  Students enrolled in the Music, Theatre or Visual Arts courses should attend the first lecture where the tutorial allocation will be made. Students must also obtain a copy of the timetable for these courses from their relevant Department.

Faculty of Business

All on-campus students register for classes through SETS. Any problems associated with the Faculty of Business timetable or SETS should be referred to the Assessments Officers: 

Faculty of Education

Students can register for some classes through SETS, other classes require a manual sign-on. Further information about how to register for classes is found on the Faculty of Education web site.

Faculty of Engineering and Surveying

Engineering and Surveying students are required to attend all lectures. Students will be advised of tutorial/practical class attendance requirements and group allocations at their first lecture. Engineering and Surveying students do not need to register for classes through SETS.

Engineering and Surveying students who are enrolled in Faculty of Business or Faculty of Sciences courses should contact the relevant Faculty for attendance requirements and group allocations. Students may be required to register for classes through SETS.

Faculty of Sciences (Nursing)

Guidelines on the process of registering for laboratory and tutorial groups are available for all nursing students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-Registration).

Faculty of Sciences (Department of Mathematics and Computing)

Mathematics and Computing students should refer to the Department of Maths and Computing timetable.

This timetable includes additional information including teaching staff, consultation times and meetings which are not shown on the University timetable. The timetables for the Mathematics and Computing staff are also available on this web site. If there are inconsistencies between the Faculty timetable and the University timetable, please contact the Faculty of Sciences.

Students can register for some classes through SETS, other classes require a manual sign-on. For further information please contact the Faculty of Sciences SETS Officer. 

Faculty of Sciences (Department of Biological and Physical Sciences)

Biological and Physical Sciences students are encouraged to refer to the University timetable for class information and send an email to the Department Timetable Coordinator with any queries.

Students can register for BIO1203 - Human Anatomy and Physiology via SETS. For further information please contact the Faculty of Sciences SETS Officer. Students can register for all other courses through manual sign-on, so please check the notice board in D-Block or outside the Examiner's office of the course you wish to sign up for (Practicals or Tutorials), or contact your Examiner for further details.

Please ignore any group codes that might appear after the room number, except for ones that end in (A), (B), (C) or (D).

Faculty of Sciences (Department of Psychology)

Psychology students should refer to the University timetable for class information. Students can register for some classes through SETS, other classes require a manual sign-on. For further information please contact the Faculty of Sciences SETS Officer.
