Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA)

The Residential Tenancy Authority looks after the laws covering the rental of accommodation in Queensland.  This legislation is the Residential Tenancies Act 1994 and the Residential Services (Accommodation) Act 2002. 

Who is covered by the law

The law gives tenants, landlords and agents an understanding of their rights and responsibilities when renting.

The Residential Tenancy Authority can help you learn your rights and responsibilities as a tenant and can provide advice on:
