Career Counselling
Career counselling is helpful for:
-
making sound career decisions and setting directions
-
choosing and changing degree programs and majors
-
discovering resources to support career decisions and actions
-
planning for employment after graduation.
What is involved
Career counselling involves confidential sessions with an appropriately trained professional (eg, psychologist, social worker) who abides by standards and ethics. The career counsellor will ask questions about your career and life plans, and talk about the major personal influences that will effect your career. Career counselling usually involves setting goals and learning tasks to enable good career decisions.
Career Counsellors
Professional Career Counsellors are available across all USQ campuses.

The appointments
The process of setting an appointment will requre you to attend a drop-in session (either in person or by phone). In the drop-in session you will be able to present your concerns and the counsellor will develop an action plan with you. Sometimes the action plan will not include a full appointment or session with the counsellor; it may involve providing you with resources so that will enable you to answer your questions. If you are offered an appointment, the career counsellor will request reception to arrange a suitable time for you.
Career counselling is free of charge.
