Job interviews

By securing an interview you are one step closer to obtaining the job. But the hard work does not stop there, as there are a number of issues to consider when approaching a job interview. You must be aware of the type of interview you will be attending. It is also important that you have undertaken adequate interview preparation. There are many aspects to consider during the interview, including the questions you will be asked, content that should be covered and nonverbal behaviour. Once the interview is over, you will also have interview follow-up activities to be completed.

The Department of Education, Science and Training have provided a useful worksheet about the interview process: DEST Worksheet 8 - Interviews (*PDF 180 k).

If you would like to practice your job interview skills you can make an appointment with a USQ Career Counsellor to run through a mock-interview. Email: careers@usq.edu.au.
