My Future

My Future  is a government sponsored site that contains a wealth of information on career planning.  Designed by counselling professionals it is divided into two sections: 

  • My Guide is a self-directed career exploration site.  You can set your own personal account and work through a range of very useful career planning exercises. 
  • The Facts contains a broad and deep database of information relating to careers, work and employment, education and training, financial support, and useful contact information.

DEST Worksheet

The Department of Education, Science and Training have provided a useful worksheet to assist in the job searching self-assessment process: DEST Worksheet 2 - Understand Yourself (*PDF 137 k). The questionnaire will help you understand and build a profile of your work preferences, interests, knowledge, skills, preferred work location and conditions, and your dreams and aspirations.

Graduate Careers Australia

Graduate Careers Australia allows students and graduates to gain information about career planning, preparing for job applications as well as providing employment opportunities.  Graduate Careers is associated with the Graduate Careers Council of Australia and is supported by career counsellors at Australian universities.

FINSIA - Financial Services Institute of Australia (Student Career Development Portal)

FINSIA has developed a new career portal is designed to provide useful information and resources for members beginning their career in financial services and others who are considering joining the industry.

Job Juice

Job Juice is a government initiative that provides the latest information for young people and including Indigenous youth, on employment services, apprenticeships, career options and links to further education and training.

The Job Outlook is a government site that provides valuable and accurate information on the employment statistics for a wide range of occupations.  

Leaps and Bounds - Tertiary Planning for Disability Students

Leaps and Bounds (PDF 392 kb) has been developed by the South Queensland Regional Disability Liaison Officer (RDLO). This career exploration guide is useful for students with additional needs who are considering vocational education and training or higher education.

Unigrad is designed specifically for university students providing acccess to a variety of job opportunities, job-seeking tips, company details, information about professional organisations as well as contact details for careers services at universities.
