Counselling Support

The USQ Counselling Service offers free confidential psychological support to students of the University. Counsellors are all qualified professionals. They will work with you to understand and manage issues that are impacting on your ability to reach your potential.

Appointments

Counsellors are available for appointments Monday through to Friday. The Counselling Service runs during recess periods but is closed on public holidays and when the University is not open, for example, over the Christmas period.

Sessions last for approximately 50 minutes. For many people, one appointment is enough to resolve the issue. Further appointments are made if necessary but the counselling is usually short-term, that is, up to six sessions. Sometimes, clients may be referred to appropriate practitioners off-campus if long term counselling or specialised services are required.
