Renew your cover

As a Student visa holder, it is your responsibility to make sure your OSHC is active and renewed before its expiry date. OSHC for the duration of your stay in Australia is a Student visa requirement. Letting your OSHC expire not only puts you at risk of very high medical bills should an accident or illness occurs, but can also jeopardise the continuity of your Student visa.

Students who wish to renew their OSHC will have to do so with their chosen OSHC provider. This can be done via the OSHC providers website, on-campus - where the OSHC provider has a representative, at local retail branches or by mail.

Renewing your OSHC with Worldcare can be done:

  • online using a credit card (provided the policy has not expired)
  • in person at Student Services, G Block, USQ Toowoomba campus, where an OSHC Worldcare representative is available. Current hours can be obtained from Student Services (G Block) or phoning (07) 4631 2372.
  • by mail using the Application Renewal Form (PDF 154 kb). Payment can be made by credit card or Money Order.

Renewing lapsed cover

If you forget to renew your OSHC, you will be required to pay both the premiums for the lapsed insurance period and the premiums for the new period of insurance. As an added penalty for allowing your OSHC to expire, no benefits are payable for claims incurred during the lapsed period of OSHC and more information can be obtained from: OSHC Worldcare Policy document and members guide ((Section one OSHC Policy ‘Periods of Cover - 5’).
