What does an environmental scientist do?

Protect our animals, plants, natural resources and all the incredible aspects of our environment as an Environmental Scientist. A big part of this job is environmental research; from evaluating habitat and wildlife needs, to conducting environmental impact assessments, to analysing the effects of pollution. With this knowledge you can advise on policies and help enforce laws to conserve and protect the environment. Many Environmental Scientists work in the field and some work in corporate offices or educational settings, such as schools and universities.

Is a career as an environmental scientist right for me?

When conducting environmental studies, it’s likely you’ll have to get up close and personal with nature. If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty and have a passion for conservation, you might enjoy a career in environmental science. Other skills and attributes beneficial for this role include:
