RATIONALE:

Students should have the opportunity to complement their Master degree specialisations with studies essential to the continued development of their abilities to a high level. For Performance students this will involve dissertation presentation and for Teaching students it will involve complementary performing studies.

SYNOPSIS:

This  unit  is  designed to enable Performance students to  present  the
dissertation   on   a  specific  aspect  of  music  related   to   their
specialisation  prepared in the pre-requisite  unit,  and  for  Teaching
students  to  increase their standard of personal  performance  and  the
breadth of their repertoire.

OBJECTIVES:

On successful completion of this unit students will have acquired advanced skills in areas that will complement their specialisation. These are:

1. Performance: Presentation of a dissertation, and Teaching: development of an extended personal repertoire

TOPICS:

 Description                                                    Weighting(%)

Performance: written and oral presentation of

Teaching: selection, preparation and presentation of a
repertoire that will lead to personal extension.
