This  unit covers the economics-based empirical research in financial
accounting.  There is an emphasis on evidence concerning the  factors
which influence choices of accounting policies with a view to:

(a)  analysing  and evaluation hypotheses and related evidence  about
     financial accounting policies and resulting numbers:

(b)  understanding alternative research designs and methods  used  in
     the studies.
