Synopsis
The application of financial information to corporate problem-solving
and analysis is a key requirement for corporate managers. This unit
introduces students to the fundamental concepts of financial statement
analysis and then focuses on the relationship between financial
information and capital market data. In particular, the unit will
provide students with the necessary skills to evaluate and anticipate
the impact of financial information on the value of various asset and
debt securities, and to utilise such information in the analysis of
situations such as corporate restructuring and financial distress.
