Pre-requisite: 70230
Familiarity with electronic devices and circuits is fundamental to electrical engineers. This unit is the first in a sequence of electronic engineering units and requires a basic knowledge of circuit theory as taught in 70230 Electrical Technology. The material covered here will be further developed in both breadth and depth in subsequent units. Topics to be covered will include : simple discrete semiconductor devices, logic circuits, amplifiers, negative and positive feedback, power supplies, selected integrated circuits and basic communication systems.
