Synopsis

This  unit concentrates on the design of individual elements in  steel
and timber to meet both project specific and general code requirements
of AS1170, AS1720, AS4100.

Design   exercises  consider  design  objectives,  alternative  design
concepts,  strength,  stability,  serviceability,  economy  and   good
detailing.

The  unit  also  includes  sections on  fracture  mechanics  and  weld
technology.
