Synopsis
This unit considers the assumptions, principles and operational
implications of human resource management in Education through a study of the
skills and processes required to manage work groups for effectiveness and
accountability. The unit emphasises current legal, ethical and
policy issues in the administration of human resources. It also emphasises the
management of quality and productivity. Attention will be
given to the concepts of motivation, communication, team building
processes and conflict management. The understandings and skills
derived from this study will be applied through creation and
implementation of supervisory and evaluation procedures and the
design, implementation and evaluation of staff development programmes.
