Synopsis

This unit provides a knowledge of writing techniques employed by
composers of different periods in musical history and enables students
to gain experience in using and further developing these techniques.
It also facilitates aural acuity relating to pitch, melody, rhythm,
tempo, dynamics, harmony and form, and assists in an aural awareness
of subtle stylistic nuances and shadings in different interpretive
philosophies. Each succeeding Music Craft unit further develops this
acuity.
