Creating works of art is a fundamental component of practical studies in the Visual Arts. This, the commencing unit of practice in third year studies, continues the process of developing increased competence in the handling of materials, with more advanced levels of conceptual and expressive achievement expected. Students formulate individual programmes of work, in consultation with specialist staff, which might extend across semester five into the succeeding semester of study. During these final two semesters, personal involvement may be concentrated more specifically in the two areas of studio discipline studied previously. At all times, studio practice will be reinforced between lecturers and individual students. Drawing will underpin areas of studio practice.
