This unit provides study of and training for the acting profession. It is concerned with finding a personal work method, and the integrating of previously mastered skills into that work method. In addition, students will examine the organisation and market demands of professional theatre, e.g. agents, contracts, theatre managements and the audition process. Students will also study the contemporary World and Australian theatre scene through a series of lecturer led discussions and contributions from visiting guest artists. Emphasis will be given to film and television work as preparation working for professionals in these areas.
