This unit is a continuation of advanced studies in professional stage management for students wishing to pursue a career in this aspect of theatre. The unit focuses upon the practical implementation of stage management techniques through the conduct of a public performance. Students will also examine the role of stage management in a range of performance media, namely (1) The Play; (2) The Ballet; (3) The Opera; (4) Theatre in Education; and (5) Light Entertainment. The role of contracts and trade unions will be considered.
