Synopsis

This  unit  focuses on the role and work of the professional economist
in  the  development and presentation of economic and  policy  advice.
Apart  from emphasising applied economic analysis, the unit  addresses
issues  associated  with  policy ideology and  value  judgements,  the
nature  of decision-making in the Australian and other economies,  the
nature, extent and use of economic power and potential conflict  among
policy  objectives. Students are required to complete  and  present  a
small policy dissertation.
