Synopsis
This unit is designed to give students an understanding of government-
business relations. Whether they work in the public or private sectors
it is important that graduates appreciate the roles of business and
the state and the mechanisms by which they relate. To this end the
unit examines the legislative, economic and industrial relations
environment in which business operates. It also examines key issues
such as government intervention in the market place, the differing
objectives of the public and private sectors and the impact of
international conditions on the government- business environment.
