Synopsis

This unit is the final unit in the Government major and is part of the
Politics and Environmental Studies options. The unit first introduces
students to the main points of view involved in the debate about
balancing development and conservation. Then these positions are
discussed in relation to the physical development of Australia.
Students will learn about the analytical tools used in assessing
environmental impact and how these are applied, by considering case
studies and current environmental issues.
