Synopsis
This unit analyses the impact of current developments in the
Australian foreign exchange market on the operations of firms. It
examines the decisions of firms (i) to engage in specialised trade
financing; (ii); to execute cross-border investments and (iii) to
source finance internationally. As these decisions create foreign
exchange risk for the firm, the unit assesses strategies to manage
these risks and also examines the legal, tax and accounting
implications.
