Synopsis
This unit highlights the knowledge and skills needed by public sector
managers in both understanding and analysing a wide variety of expert
advice and in providing advice to senior administrative and political
leaders in both written and oral forms that is appropriate, cogent,
competent and ethical. Attention is given to the real life context of
providing advice in the public sector, the institutions and processes
involved and to issues such as assessing and developing arguments,
identifying facts and values and developing strategies for successful
acceptance of advice.
