Synopsis
During the last decade the public sector at both state and federal
levels in Australia and overseas has undergone tremendous change and
reform. This is continuing. This unit examines the causes of change,
the processes used to achieve it and highlights the key issues
confronting managers seeking to implement reform and change in the
public sector. Areas such as design and planning, policy,
organizational structure and design and overcoming resistance to
change and managing staff are specifically covered. Examples and
experiences of change are provided both from Australia and from
overseas.
