Synopsis

This  unit examines the application and management of state-of-the-art
technology in an information system context. One of the basic building
blocks  of  an  information architecture is data. The issue  of  data,
databases and database access is treated in detail. The integration of
hardware  and  software  in information systems  to  support  decision
making   to  develop  and  implement  corporate  strategies  will   be
discussed.  As  well, the management implications of  this  technology
will be addressed and future trends examined.
