There are four major topics in this unit: plant water relationships, including the effects of soil moisture and environmental conditions on water uptake and loss by plants; mineral nutrition of plants; and the effects of nutrient deficiencies; photosynthesis and the use and storage of energy; plant growth and development and the role of hormones.
