Synopsis

This unit discusses the present day climatic model and compares
it with those of the past. In doing so it draws on a range of
geological evidence such as stable isotope geochemistry, the
fossil record and sea level changes. Earth systems are constantly
changing and long term climate changes are put in an earth history
perspective. Shorter term fluctuations such as the 'Greenhouse
Effect' are also topics of concern.
