Synopsis

The laws relating to Local Government are constantly
changing and developing through new and amending legislation,
as well as by decisions of the Courts. It is necessary for the
local government engineer not only to have an understanding of how
these laws are developed and changed but also to possess the
interpretative skills necessary for the application of these
laws. It is essential that the local government engineer
knows and understands the basic points of law currently relating
to local government engineering. Accordingly the laws
currently relating to local government operation,
engineering works, transportation, planning, environmental
matters and building will be covered.
