Synopsis

The  study  of dramatic texts provides insights into human experiences
and  places  these  experiences in the context of society.  This  unit
examines the second of the four major historical periods of drama  and
provides  a detailed study of the history, theory, texts and  practice
of drama and theatre during the Renaissance in Europe and England. The
unit  will  include  a special study of the work  of  Shakespeare  and
Shakespearian production techniques.
