Synopsis

This  unit encompasses the study and application of general and  civil
engineering  materials testing at a more advanced level  than  before,
following  on  from  earlier  materials  studies,  together  with   an
introduction   to  the  technology  of  instrumentation   of   various
structures  ,  sources of error in such instruments and  awareness  of
their  limitations. Testing is conducted in accordance  with  relevant
Australian Standards and instrument information is based on data  from
specialist suppliers.
