Synopsis

This  unit  deals  with  the issues involved  in  the  human  resource
management  function  which  is  broadly  defined  as  human  resource
development.  The  main focus will be concerned  with  how  continuous
training  and  development of staff contribute to  the  fulfilment  of
organisational  objectives. Specific areas which  will  be  considered
are:  defining  and measuring performance; career planning/management/
development;  training needs analysis, delivery  and  evaluation;  and
strategic HRD issues.
