Synopsis

This  unit  covers methodologies and practice of systems  development,
including  traditional  and  modern analysis  techniques  involved  in
designing  and  implementing  computerised  information  systems.  The
concepts  of  a database, and some basic elements of database  design,
are  introduced.  The  students  will  gain  practial  experience   in
developing systems; this builds a strong foundation for the subsequent
units of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
