Synopsis
The opportunity to explore and to evaluate critically widely accepted
practices and new trends is an essential feature of the pre-service
program of any professional. "Issues and Trends in Early Education"
provides such an opportunity for early childhood teachers. The unit
explores historical and contemporary issues related to many facets of
the care and education of young children. Particular emphasis will be
given to when, where and how education should take place, as well as
to what children should be taught. Students will be expected to read
in depth in a number of areas presented for study.
