Working within the constraints of a formal rehearsal and production process is essential to actor training. This unit continues work on the Stanislavski system of acting. Realism is the dominant paradigm; Stanislavski is recognised as the most relevant method for realistic acting both for stage and screen. The unit also introduces students to children's theatre, public performance and the rehearsal process.

1 In certain cases exceptions to the prerequisites may be made.
2 An individual criteria sheet for each assignment will be supplied
by the relevant tutor.
3 Attendance at no less than 90% of all practical classes when
required. Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in a
loss of one grade from a student's overall unit mark.
4 Final grade is determined on the basis of total accumulated
points from each of the designated projects.
