Synopsis

National  economies,  today, cannot function well  in  isolation  from
occurrences  in  other national economies; global interdependence  now
characterises  national and international affairs. In this  unit,  the
disciplines  of  international economics and international  trade  are
enriched  by  contributions from industrial  organisation  to  explore
issues  in  international trade and investment. The focus will  be  on
Australia's   integration  into  the  world   economy   and   on   the
internationalisation of Australian firms.
