Synopsis

This  unit  will  cover the importance of quality  assurance,  quality
control  and  quality improvement to the success of  a  business,  how
these  functions may be integrated into the business, and the  methods
and  techniques  in their application. Students will  relate  business
strategy, benchmarking, reliability and system effectiveness,  control
charts,  human factors and cost management to the overall  improvement
of  quality. Quantitative and qualitative methods will be  dealt  with
where  appropriate and will be related to economic and  organisational
objectives of the business.
