Synopsis

This unit deals with empirical research in financial accounting. There
is  an  emphasis  on evidence concerning the factors  which  influence
choices of accounting policies with a view to:

a)  analysing  and  evaluating hypotheses and related  evidence  about
financial accounting policies and resulting numbers:

b)  understanding  alternative research designs and  research  methods
used in various studies.
