Synopsis

The unit provides knowledge of the habitat preferences, ecophysiology,
population   dynamics  and  life  history  strategies  of   Australian
terrestrial vertebrates, with an emphasis on mammals. The main  theory
topics   are   biogeography;  the  role  of  fire  in  the  Australian
environment;  sampling  and  measuring  wildlife  habitat   variables;
ecophysiology   of   nutrition;  comparative   reproductive   biology;
estimating animal abundance; principles of wildlife management.
